So... who are you?
Hey friend! I'm Mariah Allen—a Montana photographer, former Miss Rodeo Montana, real estate professional, breast cancer thriver, and proud single mom to four incredible daughters.

I call Bozeman home, but my passport and camera are always ready for the next adventure. Whether it's a senior session in Montana, a wedding in another state, or a commercial campaign halfway around the world, I'm always up for telling a great story.

🐴 What's with all the horses?

Well... horses have pretty much been part of my story since I was five years old.
I grew up in Montana where my barn was basically my second home. Rodeo became my favorite sport, eventually leading me to earn the title of Miss Rodeo Montana in 1999.
That Western lifestyle still inspires so much of my work today. If you bring boots, horses, hats, or a little cowgirl spirit to your session, we'll probably become friends pretty quickly.

🎓 What's your background?

I graduated from Montana State University in 2002 with a degree focused on Communications, Psychology, and Business.
Looking back, it makes perfect sense. I spend my days connecting with people, helping them feel comfortable, telling stories, and building businesses.
Honestly, I've always been doing some version of this.

📷 How long have you been a photographer?
Professionally? Since 2007.

Unofficially? Since forever.
I was a 4-H photography kid, an obsessive scrapbooker, and always the person carrying a camera. Some kids collected things—I collected memories.
One of the highlights of my career was serving as a commercial photographer for Montana Silversmiths for over 10 years, creating imagery that celebrated the Western lifestyle and heritage I love so much.

👠 Western photographer or fashion photographer?

Both.
I love creating portraits that feel like they belong in a magazine while still staying authentic to who you are.
Think Vogue meets Montana.
I love dramatic light, beautiful styling, confidence, movement, wide-open spaces, and helping clients discover a version of themselves they didn't know existed.

🏡 Wait... you're also in real estate?

Yep!
When I'm not behind the camera, I'm helping clients navigate some of life's biggest decisions through real estate.
I'm a Realtor® and Sales Associate with Starner Commercial and SO-RED Real Estate & Development, helping families buy and sell homes, discover their Montana dream property, and helping businesses find spaces where they can grow and thrive.
At the heart of both careers is the same thing: relationships.

💗 What has shaped you the most?

Becoming a mom.
Surviving breast cancer.
Learning that life is far more precious than we realize.
Those experiences changed how I see photographs. They're not just pretty pictures—they become part of your legacy. They're reminders of the people, moments, and seasons that matter most.
That's why what I do means so much to me.

My four daughters.
