Volunteering at my daughter's school is one of my biggest delights! I love seeing her in her environment, with her classmates and the interaction with friends. This week her class visited a local dairy farm for their field trip.. It was a bit cold, rainy and well stinky. The kids were so funny holding their nose around all the wet manure! We had to wrap bags around their feet so they wouldn't get full of mud and manure while we tromped around the farm. The kids got a chance to feed to new baby calves some warm milk. My sweet girl really thought it was cool. She is such an animal lover. Being raised around farm animals, I was in heaven photographing these baby calves and the interactions with the kids. This little guy was my favorite! Normally dairy cows are black and white, but this little guy was a pretty red sorrel and white. I could've totally taken him home! This was the group of kids I was in charge of, they were so fun! Our next stop was Wagner Nursery where the kids learned about plants, trees, shrubs and beautiful flowers! The flowers were so beautiful and amazing hanging baskets abounded ready to be hung on someone's front porch! She was loving smelling all the different varieties of flowers! I am so grateful to have spent the day with her on her field trip day and capture a part of her school activities!
